City Bleach is a political, activist, video work I made in 2002.

In 2003 it won the first prize in Adbusters magazine's video competition and was later exhibited at Black-Lab gallery in Seattle (in a show curated by Joone Miette), at Darklights film festival in Dublin Ireland (in a program curated by Vardit Gross) and at Cinema Classics in New York (in an experimental program curated by Michelle Mumoli).

In this work, I manipulate still B&W shots of time square, erasing all commercial messages from them and planting, instead, quotes and facts dealing with consumer culture.

The soundtrack for this piece was composed by Adam Aboulafia.
