When Victoria’s beloved husband dies in his sleep (too much liver-paté), she buys a special casket designed with a closed-circuit camera that transmits the image of the deceased into a small monitor. Shutting herself from the outer world, she places the monitor next to her bed and establishes a relationship with it, denying her husband’s death and sinking into a relationship with the electronic device. Cooking for Richard is a short film about afterglow love, loss and acceptance. It examines the fetishistic characteristic of modern technology and the impact it could have on the process of mourning. |
